Plants are kinda strange (their like people)

Plants are like a very advanced human species that are really small yet very advanced compared to the human race the thing is they created things like gliders, helicopters and floating raft things.  So hi we're back for another week and now for some boring facts that are supposed to be interesting because they are plants, but plants are boring so I'm very confused.

Fact numero uno, Plants are living organisms that have to be pollinated in order to grow pollinating can be done in a few different ways from the wind to insects.

Fact... number... two (can you see I'm already bored of this after the fist fact I'm already done).  There are male and female versions of plants.

Fact three, plants live on a very different time scale to us. So for them time is accelerated, Which means they grow very quickly.

Fact 4, The colour of the flower determines what they are most commonly pollinated by. If the flower is white it is most likely pollinated at night.

Term 4 Goals Reflection thingy [insert joke here]

Goals Goals Goals why are goals a thing when I've basically already forgotten what all my goals were so I had to look back in my book to remember what they were. What do I still need to do to achieve them, a lot of my goals take the whole term to complete because they are stuff like keep doing this.

Are there any other goals that I want to add OF COURSE NOT!!!! because that would mean extra work.

I have no rants so I will rant about not having rants. I really should have renamed my blog Rant central but I just have no rants at the moment. I guess people are just more "rational" these days I guess it was just production making people "insane".  Why do people have to think that they have soo much work but its like only five reasonable things. So that was my quick rant to make this longer.

Speeches (why why why soooo prepared you know just soooo prepared)

Hi I am toootaly prepared to say my speech yaknow like I've memorised it all and I only have notes on my cue cards. If you could not see the sarcasm in that sentence how dumb are you. Ok so I am not prepared at all I was meant to try to memorise my speech in the weekends but instead I ended up playing games all day. Which means I have memorise anything but a few bits that have stuck in my head when I was writing it out.

The cue cards are probably the only thing that I have done. why did I commit to the gaming life not the work life. Oh yeah because its way more fun.

What do I have to work on mainly eye contact and not swaying. Swaying is just a thing that happens naturally I don't know why but it just happens and a lot of the time I don't notice I am swaying. Eye contact is just a thing that you do when you have actually memorised your speech which I have not.

So that's it for this week but here's a fun fact I was really good at doing poems in the younger years but when we got to speeches I just stopped being good, I guess I just peeked to early.

Book week (reflection)

Hi book week was nothing this year compared to last year wasn't as impressive as last year. Well any way the author that came (Fifi Coulston) she was very good and talked about very interesting topics ("things" for you simple minded people) book character parade wasn't much because all you did was sit there and look at what the other kids are dressed up as, it was  soooooooooooooooooooooo..... boring.


The book week was great [insert sarcastic joke here] well the year 7 and 8 rounds were better because they were just better questions. The younger rounds were alright they were very simple picture books but that's what the little kids read and know about.


The book swap was good it was more lucrative for the younger kids though because there were more books for younger kids than for the older kids. Since I helped out I got to get my books before everyone else so I got some reasonable good young adult books.


The book week activity I did was draw a map so I drew a map of Araluen from the rangers apprentice story. I would say I did a pretty good job of tracing the map from the second book (for some reason the first book didn't have a map).

Books Books Books (Words)

Hi Books are a thing, they have letters, and English words. Ok so now we have that out of the way today I am going to be talking about books because it be (I spelt it like this on purpose) book week. What was my favoutite picture book when I was little, was probably... the Whine-The-Pooh books, I don't know why but yeah.

Who's my favourite author. My favourite author is... John Grishman. I don't know why exactly but he writes the, Theodore Boone series of books and I'm really liking that series at the moment so that's why I chose him.

Best book I have read this year would have to bee the finisher/the keeper because they just had so much mystery and magic and lore/backstory to it that it was just so interesting. I would only recommend it to good readers because it has quite a few complicated words and the book itself is very long ( Both the books are very long so make sure you are okay with that if you are going to read it).

Production Over View (for me)

Hi guys so today I do not have a rant *gasp* *shocked look* *gasp* but it is only because the production went so well (maybe its just because of me but......). I felt that everyone that had an acting role even the smallest ones did amazing. What did I enjoy most about my role, Well all of it even the stress of all the timing and yada yada yada.... but yeah loved all of it even talking to the other guythat was doing the sound levels on the mics and stuff. he was a cool dude he told me about a lot of the stuff he does in his job (Fun Fact: he had been doing that sort of work for one week.)

What was the highlight for me, the highlight for me would have have been that feeling after nailing the timing, and also just the atmosphere.

The funniest moment for me, would have to have been when the skunk scouts went onto the stage and the whole crowd went ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh (because they hadn't seen the skunks yet so they looked extra cute.

Is there anything that I would have differently, no! of course not it was just so good.

One thing did not know about was having my own time to take a bow in front of the audience (I was not told that I was going to be going on stage by myself?!)

Speech... thing... guote... no... idea

I have a dream. It's about food. hi so we're back and I have chosen ,I have a dream, as my quote (get it I... I had it as the start of my blog post... get it... get it bad joke sorry). Soo... I have a dream, is a quote from Martin Luther King Juniors' speech. He wrote it for black rights in America. It appeals to me because it feels good to hear/say, and its really inspirational.


I feel like I just summed all of that up in one paragraph... I have no idea what to fill the rest of this up with a rant or something. Its the beginning of term so I have no rants that I have to say soo...

Space thing cause yeah

Hubble finds planet orbiting star. scientist and space people have used the Hubble telescope and a trick of nature to find a planet orbiting another star. This sun with a planet is further away from the star that we orbit (it is the furthest planet we know of).  This planet doesn't just orbit one star it orbits two.


If you were the one looking through the telescope it would be one of the best days of your life, to find another planet!

Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace Activities

Hi my people (I just do not stick to a hello do I) So I have to reflect on a space activity that I have done. The activity that I have done and I am going to talk about is my writing (The fiction one).  What did I enjoy about the writing? I enjoyed all of it because I like writing it is what I like to do. One thing I remember from the old Rm 10 was getting 100-200 words in one story was the most amazing thing ever.


What did I learn/what new skills did I gain by doing this? I didn't learn much or get many new skills except for just going to the depths of my imagination. But it was really fun for me because I enjoy writing especially free writing ( It wasn't fully free because I had to base it off an idea).


Well I cant really add a photo because its writing soo..... I think this is the end of my post.


It was quite a short one because there weren't that many questions.




BUT ON GOOD NEWS I HAVE FINALLY REACHED 200 DAYS OF DUOLINGO

Time Managment (I feel that I am good) WARNING INCLUDES RANT!!!!

Hi guys today I am going to be talking about time management, But first I have to rant. So one thing I kind of don't understand is how people with main roles in the production complete their tasks even though they get no task time. Then the people who have hours on hours of task time do not get all their tasks done. I am on sound as most of you know so that means I am at every  rehearsal and get no task time. Even though I don't do work at home I get all my work done at school because then at home I can relax and play games. I feel that I know why these people who have all this time play games during task time while we have rehearsals. Mainly Because they have all their friends in their with them.


So that was my rant...


How much work do I do at school and how much do I do at home, At school I do everything possible. At home I will only do very easy things that don't take long unless its Thursday and we have no task time on Friday so I will finish all of the work that I have not done at home.


Am I making the most of my time at school, I say so because I avoid sitting near anyone who is playing games because they will influence me into playing games and not working (its school so why are they not working on anything games are what I do at home).


What are things that help me concentrate and what makes it difficult, the most important thing to help me concentrate is silence I work better when their is no noise so when people work while listening to music I wonder how they finish all their work because they spend more time finding a song than they do working. What makes it harder people playing games and noise.


What can I do to overcome these difficulties, I can only work in room 12 and avoid people that play games.

Production!... dance rehearsals (Year 8 dance is so fast)

Hi guys this week I will be talking about the dances for the production. The first dance we learnt was the year 7 dance (it would have to be my favourite out of the two) The reason I like it more is because it has a very cool song, but the best thing about is that it is quite a slow dance compared to the year 8 dance.


The year 8 dance, there is one move that involves a few kicks that I seem to not be able to do my brain just does not let my legs do that move. the thing is it is such a quick dance that if you fail a move or are un able to do that move the song will just let you stuff up and go onto the next move.

The dance I like the best is the year 7 one because it is way slower and has a really cool song.
What do I need to do to make the dance go well, what I can do is try not to stuff it up and make it so if I stuff up cover it in some way.

Glasses (and other tech) helps athletes (their basically google glass)

Hi guys and I'm here to talk about some Stuff that's been happening in the world (well really just one thing). But anyway this tech helps the athletes perform way better than they do without them. Nike created special shoes for some of the athletes where the shoes had special spikes (or something like that), that helped them propel them further and faster on the track).








There's also these headphones called the Halo Sports headphones. The headphones have little metal probes on the top that shock the wearer and it gives the same effect as if you were drinking an energy drink. Supposedly these are really and make the athletes perform way better. I believe that these do not work but supposedly they do I don't really understand how but that's the same with all technology.

Solos Smart Eyewear by Kopin (these are the glasses) the glasses are made to protect the wearer from the sun (because they are sun glasses) but have a tiny screen that helps cyclists (the main wearers) see their stats like speed and distance, so they can tell if they need to put on more power or slow down so they can conserve energy.

Riddle Thing (Might be cool I don't know)

Hi so this week we have to make a riddle So here goes:

So that's my riddle for you it was the best I could do I'm not very good at writing/thinking of riddles so this is one of my better ones that I thought of In like 5 minutes so bye I guess until next time.

Mens single canoe slalom (is crazy)

Hi this week I will be talking about Mens single canoe slalom it's really cool because they make these man made rivers that have insane rapids and they race down them with crazy times. Having to go through and round these gates trying to go as fast as they can without hitting the poles because that will give them a 2 second penalty.

Did I learn anything about this sport? Not much apart from how cool it is and what the rules are, so to answer that question yes I did learn stuff :p   .

Book Groups (are fun)

Hey guys I'm back and today I will be talking about my book group and what book I am reading.

The book I am reading is Tangerine by Edward Bloor, It is quite a good book with lots of things to get you wondering about what's wrong with his family and what are they hiding from Paul (the main character).


What do I think of the book so far, I think like every great book it has its extremely long setup to explain who everyone is and what they do. I feel that it will get very interesting between Paul, his dad and his brother. I think this because his dad overlooked everything for Paul when they moved but focused on giving Pauls brother the best he can get to further his American Football education.


I feel that our group is working really well together even though we have the small bit of talking over each other but I'd say that's expected from a group of year 8's who just want to read and unlock crackers while talking about the book.


What could I do to make the group work better, I can try to stay on topic while keeping the other people in my group on track as well. I can also help the other people by letting them talk and not interrupting them. And for the people that don't talk that much I can ask them questions.

Medieval week (great banter)

Hi sorry for it being a bit late this week but things got in the way with having to read the production script and all I didn't really give myself much time to do this (my blog). I'm here this week to talk about medieval week and how banterous it was with the Minecraft role-play and all with me being the baron of the land.

What went well, well I would say bouncing back after not having one person who had lots of information went well. (this was the shortest one and I don't know why, so I am writing this to make it look longer :p  )

First question of the week is How do I think my lesson went. Well I feel my group did quite good with having one less person *cough* Katherine *cough* *cough*. creating the quiz we did was quite fun even though some things went wrong in that it went well.


What could have been done better? well the thing is I think the quiz could have been done a bit better but I can't really tell what could have been done better because I was doing it and make it sound glorified so it would be more fair to ask the people that we were teaching.
What other lessons did I enjoy, Well I enjoyed the trading game that I would say was my favorite one because it was really fun because they had all the little descriptions on them which changed the price of the completely. Then it would have to be..... um....... um........ the food one was quite interesting even though I barely participated in the activity which was eating some of the foods I gagged quite a bit when I ate one of the items and they said there would be nothing bad.

Kapa Haka

Hello this week I will be talking about kapa haka and the levels of cringe that come with it. my participation I feel is good because of some of the time some people just do something really strange and it makes everyone cringe so much.

What am I finding easy.. well I think I'm finding the singing the easiest because I like singing but I don't feel I'm good at it. I like singing in Maori because it just flows nicely and I like rolling my R's when I speak another language that isn't English.

What am I finding difficult... well I feel the timing and knowing the moves because of the feeling that it isn't the right thing to do but I always try my hardest.

How could I work on my performance... well I think I could work on my timing and learning the moves more mainly my timing though.

Sorry for it being such a short post this week its because their weren't many questions.

Medieval Minecraft (I built A castle)

Hello this week I will be taking about our medieval Minecraft world we are doing this because we want to learn about what the buildings were like and how they were made. I feel that our village is historically correct (some of it at least) I feel that the houses look like they're made out of wattle and daub.

The part that I like best about doing this is building in Minecraft as a class and learning about the castles (I'm building the castle). One annoying thing is the people who don't really want to be playing just dig holes in the ground and make it kind of annoying.

I think we still need to work on the houses and shops and things because some of the houses aren't very realistic the Inn needs a bit of work.

Two things I'm going to work on next are the defences for the castle because the only defences are one wall and a town of people and a little stream running next to it. The other thing I'm going to work on are the interiors of the castle and the towers in the corners (that are circular I'm proud of myself).
